Wow, I'm really not great about staying up-to-date on here. Sorry, guys. It's hard to believe I haven't written a journal in almost 2 years.
Things are still going great with the boy. He and I are doing Disney World and Universal Studios this May with my parents and godparents, so I should have a ton of new photo uploads after that. I'm still at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, but I work at Wolf Haven now. I've started training wolves free-contact (meaning I'm on stage with them, no barrier between us), and, I'm not gonna lie, that feels pretty badass. Work there is a lot more exhausting than I expected, so I've become even more of a homebody when I'm not at work. Photography has kinda fallen to the wayside since starting at Wolf in January.
BUT, I've still been artsy, just with something different...
I've been working on a lot of decorated shoe commissions lately. I've been keeping it local, doing commissions for family and friends, but business has been booming way more than I ever expected it to. So that's been consuming my artistic time. I miss photography, but it's great to be working with Prismas and Copics again. I'm not sure if I'm going to open up commissions through dA or not. Would anyone be interested? Maybe I'll post a poll to see... Hmm...

Back from Disney World...
...and oh so sad about it :-(
The good news is: I'm no longer working 7 days a week, so I can actually take a few hours to submit deviations! I took very few pictures in WDW compared to what I normally do. Since it was the boy's first real trip, I focused more on giving him a proper tour of the parks than taking artsy photos. I did get a few though, and I still have a lot to post from last year's WDW trip, Sea World / Busch Gardens Tampa, and Colorado. I'll get to those first and hopefully have this year's Disney pictures posted in the next week or so.

Holy long hiatus, Batman!
So.... I disappeared again. ((And holy smokes I sold 6 prints while I was gone! Thank you so much!!!))
In my defense, I was working two jobs, trying to pay rent, and basically having to be a grown-up. My life is still insane, and I sometimes forget that eating and breathing are actually necessities and not just something I can get around to later, but I miss being creative. I miss putting on good music, busting out the Prismacolors, and losing hours at a time in art. I miss photo shoots with my friends. And I want to get it back.
Step one. Get back on DA. Step two. MAKE TIME.
If nothing else, I'll be taking a ton of pictures in D

So... it's been almost a year since I've dedicated real time and energy to this site. Hopefully, that won't happen again. But now I'm back, and I've made a bunch of changes.
Photos are uploaded from Disney World, Universal Studios, and a small trip to Monticello. In addition, I sent 1/3-1/2 of my gallery to scraps, my biggest cleanup yet. My portfolio site http://caityhastings.daportfolio.com is also new and improved.
The goal is to have some more new deviations in the next couple months. I won't be working in November, so I'll have NO excuse not to be creative.

Scrap Faves and Gallery Cleanup

Hey guys, just some quick gallery announcements.
I've been getting quite a few faves on scraps. I know I shouldn't complain because a fave is a fave, but it's starting to get a bit frustrating. I posted scraps of spinning ambigrams to prove that they're legit, and people have been faving those instead of the actual deviations. The same goes with my rock salt photo. I posted a scrap of the photo signed by the cast of Supernatural, and now that's starting to get faves instead of the actual file. I love the cast as much as the next gal, but I'd rather know that the picture is getting acknowledged for it's composition ra

You've been missed!!!! Have fun in Orlando in May! I can't wait to see your pics! My husband and I are going to try to go to Busch Gardens Williamsburg sometime this summer! I'll be sure to check out Wolf Haven if I go!
